Ce jour, l’Université d’Ottawa a voté pour la responsabilité, l’intégrité, et la transparence.  Ils ont voté pour Peter Flynn.  On va se prioriser!

Today, the University of Ottawa voted for responsibility, accountability, and transparency.  They voted for Peter Flynn.  He’s going to put uFirst.

Mon nom est Peter Flynn et je me présente comme représentant des Sciences Sociales sur le Conseil d’Administration.

Il y a trois principaux enjeux qui sont à notre porter.  Premièrement, il y a la question de la responsabilité.  L’exécutif devrait être suivi de proche dans le but qu’il respecte ses promesses.  Pour ce faire, il devrait y avoir des rapports trimestrielles (au début, au milieu et à la fin de leur mandat) qui souligneraient les étapes suivis afin de les réaliser.  Deuxièmement, l’aspect de la transparence; la FÉUO devrait être capable de justifier tous ces actes.  Entre autre, par l’établissement d’un comité d’embauche pour s’assurer du recrutement des meilleurs candidats et en offrant une plus grande accessibilité à leurs rapports financiers tels que les budgets divers et les rapports de fin d’année.  Après tout, c’est votre argent!  Troisièmement, il s’agit de l’intégrité.  La Fédération est là pour vous, pour représenter vous et vos intérêts.  Alors, il faut s’assurer qu’elle s’oriente sur des projets qui vous concernent ici même sur le campus, des projets qui vous touchent, et qui peuvent concrètement apporter quelque chose de bien à la communauté étudiante.

C’est à nous l’université.  Nous sommes sa priorité.  Priorisons-Nous.

My name is Peter Flynn, and I am running to be your Faculty Director for Social Sciences.

There are three important aspects of my campaign.  First, there is accountability.  The members of the SFUO executive must be held accountable for their promises. To achieve this, I will propose a system of reports (at the beginning, in the middle and at the end of their mandate) that outline the steps taken towards achieving their promises. Secondly, the transparency aspect; the SFUO should be in a position to justify their actions.  The establishment of a hiring committee to assure itself recruitment of the best possible candidates and  offering access to their financial reports such as the full budget and end of year reports.  After all, this is our money!  Thirdly, there comes responsibility.  The SFUO is there for you, it is there to represent you, and represent your interests.  It is necessary that it focus itself on projects that concern you here on the campus, projects that affect you, and projects that can concretely bring something of value to the University of Ottawa community.
